Research library license.
The terms under which Kodiac biolabs grants access to the downloadable research library archive. Every download is recorded against these terms and watermarked with the licensee identity.
Version: library-license-v1 · Effective 2026-06-04
1. What this license covers
Kodiac biolabs publishes per-compound research monographs at kodiac.org/blogs/monographs. The downloadable archive bundles every published monograph as a ZIP of watermarked PDFs, plus a license file, an HTML index, and a cover document. This license governs your use of that archive.
The archive is a compiled snapshot. The canonical, live version of any monograph is the web page at its public URL on kodiac.org. When the two disagree, the live web version is authoritative.
2. Research use only
The archive and every monograph in it are intended for investigators, scientists, and qualified research personnel. The material is not medical advice. It is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any disease. The compounds described are research compounds, not consumer products, and are not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory authority for therapeutic use in humans or animals.
3. Attribution required
You may quote, excerpt, paraphrase, and build on the monograph content in your own research, writing, teaching, and presentations. The only requirement is attribution:
- Credit Kodiac biolabs as the source.
- Link to the source monograph at
kodiac.org/blogs/monographs/<slug>where practical, or cite the document ID (e.g., KDC-MN-001). - Treat the writing as a working observation by a non-peer-reviewed source, not as a peer-reviewed conclusion.
4. No redistribution
You may not repost, share, mirror, host, or publicly post this archive or any PDF in it, in whole or in part, without explicit written permission from Kodiac biolabs. The restriction covers:
- File-sharing sites, paste sites, public buckets, and torrents.
- Discord servers, Telegram groups, Reddit threads, forums, group chats, and any other channel that makes the file accessible to people other than the licensee identified at download.
- Internal company file shares accessible to anyone other than the licensee.
- Re-publication on a personal site, blog, newsletter, or Substack, even with attribution.
Quoting and excerpting per Section 3 is permitted. Republishing the original PDF or any substantial verbatim portion of it is not.
5. Watermark notice
Each download produces a new copy of every PDF in the archive, watermarked with the licensee's identity on every page, in PDF metadata, and in the archive manifest. The watermark is multi-layer and intentionally redundant: removing every trace requires defeating the diagonal page text, the top banner, the footer band, the metadata block, the cover page, the license file, and the HTML index, on every document in the archive.
Copies redistributed in violation of Section 4 carry forensic markers sufficient to identify the original licensee. We treat such identifications as conclusive evidence of breach.
6. Honest identity
The name and email you supply at download must be your real identity. We use those values to watermark your copy and to maintain the audit log. Providing false identity is a breach of this license and forfeits any rights to use the material under these terms.
7. Privacy
At download we record: your name, email, optional role/organization, IP address, user agent, timestamp, accepted license version, library version, and a generated download ID. These records exist to (a) watermark your copy, (b) trace redistribution if it occurs, and (c) detect abuse. We do not sell, share, or rent these records to third parties. We retain them for as long as the archive remains available and for a reasonable period afterwards for audit purposes.
8. Termination
If you breach this license, your rights under it terminate immediately. Continued use of the material after termination is without license. Kodiac biolabs reserves the right to refuse future downloads to any party who has breached this license, and to pursue remedies under applicable copyright and contract law.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The archive is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Kodiac biolabs disclaims any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. Monographs reflect the literature and the editorial judgment of the authors at the time of writing; references retract, dosing recommendations evolve, and consensus shifts. Investigators are responsible for verifying current literature before relying on any statement in a monograph for an actual research design.
10. Limitation of liability
Kodiac biolabs's total liability arising out of or related to the archive, the license, or your use of either is limited to the amount you paid to obtain the archive. The archive is currently offered free of charge, so this limit is zero in practice. Kodiac biolabs is not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of business, or research outcomes affected by reliance on archive content.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
This license is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under this license shall be resolved in the courts of the State of North Carolina, or in any binding arbitration forum mutually agreed by the parties at the time of the dispute.
12. Updates
This license may be updated. Material changes are reflected in a new version number and a new effective date at the top of this page. Downloads taken under a prior version remain governed by the version accepted at download; new downloads are governed by the current version. Prior versions are retained for reference; see the changelog below.
